Drendel's Story

as told by Elvair & Star

This tale of Drendel's (my) death, as told by both Star and Elvair/Celeglas, is more detatched than the one as told by Elvair alone. --Drendel

Elvair:

I (aka, at the time, Celeglas ("Celee" pron kelly), the King Without A Crown) was leading troops against a foe, and Drendel, my fiancee & soulmate, was on the battlefield to watch a duel. Someone had challenged me to single mounted combat or something. I knew of Star/Nightwind at the time, but didn't directly know she was present.

Star:

I was in Drendel's head that day, and we were talking about whether or not Drendel was pregnant. Since I'm a healer, I checked Dren's body (I was sleeping 100 miles away, OBE dreamscape experience w/Soulsister), and said "Yes" and Dren was think-chatting away with me about being excited and not being able to wait to tell Elvair about the baby....and we weren't paying attention to the battle.

Elvair:

I was engaging this guy, who may have been undead, or kinda like a ringwraith kinda guy, on horseback, and had ridden past me, clash!clash! and pulled his horse around while I was on the other side of the field, to see my folk running towards the foe who was still fullgalloping down on Drendel...trying to intercept him as he rode down my wifetobe. (*sighs and tries to block dual memories of both sides of this, from Celee and Star/Drendel's POV*)....

Star:

we looked up just as the foe's sword was coming down on her, as the shadow fell on her, and was sliced in the middle. ---

Elvair:

Drendel died, Star was forced back to her body (where she had an extreme fit of deathtrauma, combined after with comatose state for a good while), and my folk made short work of the demon. *Mind you this is the first time we're remembering this from Celee/Elvair's pov....thislife* Me? I think Star & I met the first time that day, in the ether of that hell-trauma...following Drendel's soul screaming "NO!" in unison. Star followed her much farther than I could, as I wasn't IN her when she'd gone....so I recovered some semblance of wit and will before she did. I went on Quest. I rode out to firstly take care of the sacred duty to my soulmate's sister's spirit. I left Sednil in charge of the army and went south to where Nightwind was, and my father was taking care of her (small country LOL). Interesting to meet him again....but after her needs were seen to, and she was left in good hands, I went off riding lightning and screams of vengeance and passion and anger....lol -- it was a very dark time for me.

I returned (like a year later? now Celeglas of the Golden Armor...forget where I found that LOL) and was a fool, challenging the "Dark Lord" of said army to single combat. He simply scoffed at me, banished my soul, and left my body behind.

Star:

Sednil brought Celee to me and Lupei, because Lupei had kept me during my coma, and Sednil was at a loss for what else to do. Sednil was terribly distraught by this time, loving his friend and king greatly. He feared, after the loss of his Lady, then his Lord, that the Land might follow shortly. We preserved his body for his eventual, hopeful, return. this was exile, the first we knew of. My exile by this THING was later, and is in the story "A Problem With Callings..." on my website. Sednil returned to lead the northern army as best he could....Lupei and I returned south to protect the other border.

Elvair:

that's all for now. Trust me to say, it might not have been my body cut in two, but it might as well have been....
