also worth noting that even for the second and third cases (infiltrating as a troll and collecting victims) the issue is not actually the faking but the abusive behavior. people who have DID are equally capable of trolling and engaging in abusive behavior (and there are many instances of them doing so—see LB Lee’s “Cultiples” trilogy, for example). in both cases the problem is the abusive behavior, not potential faking—it doesn’t really *matter* if they actually have DID.
