Even then, sometimes a portion of what is seen externally as abuse is also internally a trauma response. That doesn't make it OK to act out, emotionally explode at people, hurt others, or try to exert power/control over people. It can make it more understandable, and give a pathway towards changing the behaviors (when trauma is resolved &/or when headmates are rescued from traumatime, etc.).
None of that has to do with fakeclaiming -- except I guess that fakeclaiming can be a form those behaviors may take.
